contract employee guidelines
I was hired as a contract employee at a law firm.. No contract was signed. I did however sign the 1099 given to me. I am constantly referred to follow the Operations Manual for rules and guidelines (last revised in 2009) are voluminous for a firm this size. My duties and tasks change continuously and my supervisor makes up rules as we go. Must I comply to the OPM?

If you like the job and want to keep it, might be a good idea to comply.

Hello - sorry to hear that you arw experiencing this issue. However, i will say to you as i used ro tell my military colleagues - know the rules. Remember, you are a contractor with no contract - and no real job protection. Tread lightly until uou can locate another job. No contract with no real job description can be a recipe for bad news. Get the experience add to resume and move on. Besr wishes.
