What do you do when you feel unimportant at your job
All my working life I have always been promoted to a trainer. I have always been on the "Go to" list for questions. But since I returned from my Maturnity leave at my current job, I have found out I am no longer a trainer, and I dont have the permissions to do other process paths like I used to. I have to be retrained, and the company has raised the rate goals. Which I am struggling to make. I feel like I am just another head in a head count.

Well at least you were not fired. They take circumstances to "weed out" those they don't like. Believe me, it is palpable at times. I have been on the receiving end and seen it happen to others, numerous times. You could call it politicking. Whatever name you call it,it isn't right or fair. I was under the gun two jobs ago as the senior glassware tech. I had three labs to take care of. I melted some plastic, in a dry heat oven because I chose the wrong program. This was the straw that broke the camel's back(I had a few other issues such as being late). Well I was sent home(a first) and when I came back I was informed that I was to report to the Animal Care department, as well as receiving a demotion( I was given a lower wage). So not only was I not in charge of an area, I was demoted to changing the animal cages. There was nothing else for me to do unfortunately so I quit. That is what they wanted me to do because they didn't have the guts to fire me. This in turn played out to me not being able to get unemployment. Were you fired? No? You quit? So no unemployment benefits. I could not say they were totally to blame, but I had my part to play. And what they did was inexcusable. But I have moved on. They will make your life unbearable and you will either stay or quit. They don't want to have you collect unemployment insurance. This is how they play. You could keep on keeping on and stick it back to them or get out of the toxic environment. My last position I almost got the sack, but I stuck it out and stayed on for a few more years, but never found out who was gunning for me. The senior glassware tech was over 4 years, and the manufacturing associate was over 11 years. Do your best and see how it works out. What ever you decide to do, I am behind you. I tell my coworkers not to trust anyone because every HR has spies snitches and narcs. That's how business gets done in corporate America. You might think I am paranoid, but it is true but I have been working since 1980. If you see it happen to others watch and pay attention, you may figure it out. Anyway, Good Luck! Troy Lawson

Lindsey, Perhaps you could contact personnel and asked them what has changed that you are no longer being considered for the training position you once had. At least they will know how you feel and perhaps things have changed and if so you can ask them how they have changed. Also maybe they feel now that you have an infant to contend with that you need more time to spend with your baby. They may just be trying to give you a break until you get back into a routine. I hope I was able to help you. TYJ

Put ur best foot forward n look at it as the student surpasses the teacher n suck it up n do wat u gotta do to get back on top Never give up or in

Baby girl push thru and move on if u need to

Lindsay, it appears that they are possibly making some provisions of releasing you. I would do a few things, which is speaking with your manager or who you report to and ask him or her out for lunch and sit down to discuss your concerns at work since your return. Hopefully you will get all the answers you need. If not, continue to do your work, but also start submitting out your resume for another opportunity to just play it safe.

Have you spoken to someone concerning this Lindsay Larkin ? You should absolutely be able to resume your job as normal after your maternity leave. Is there anything new that the company has changed and perhaps needs to train you on?
Just keep saying to yourself I am still getting paid. There are thousands of people who would love your position. Keep looking for something better. Good luck
