New management
So i have been with hardees/carls jr for a year now i am a manager there. We had a new gm and dm come into the store about a month ago.i am 6 1/2 months pregnant. I bust my ass for this store i dont call out i show up on time and i stay over just to help out. First they stripped me of my managers shirt for no reason at all. Now they cut me from 40 plus hours a week to 25 hours a week. With no reason at all. What can i do about this i have two children one on the way and bills that got to be paid and how with 25 hours a week?
In regards to the demotion I would speak with your supervisor and request a reason as to why you have been demoted. For the hours, all an employer has to say is that they did it based on company needs. Find out if the cut in hours is temporary or a permanent basis, more so for peace of mind more than anything if you decide to stay. In the mean time you can file for partial unemployment to compensate for the money lost.
Call attorney referral. Depends on the state and the reasons. Are you in an at-will state? At-will state, I'm not sure who or how it is in law or what. They have at-will housing too where they don't have to even give you a reason to terminate your occupancy. It does suck but they argue that not many people give notice when they are going to quit so why should the company have to keep you if they don't want to. Watch who you work for?
