Don’t Dumb Down
This article has some good strategies I used to approach the “you’re overqualified” rejections I’ve been dealing with for way too long now. I started using an experience and skills heavy loaded resume recently and started landing more interviews. I took a few nuggets from this article I found online to help me prep for 2 interviews this week. These are three that stood out but I’m open to any other suggestions on how I can persuade those managers to just give me an opportunity.
1.Connect specific skills and work experience directly to the company needs outlined on job description in order to prove you will have no problem getting the job done. 2. If you suspect the company has concerns over salary then highlight instances throughout your career where you’ve raised revenue or cut cost to demonstrate value. 3.Cutting edge industry knowledge make a huge difference in the hiring decision. Demonstrate you’ve got a pulse on new technology or operational procedures
