From my personal experience, i was employed by fedex freight for 19+ years. Last october i had open heart surgery. I was cleared to come back to work with limiitations. I could perform every part of my job, but i was limited to lift no more than 50lbs. I went through an RAR review which i was granted to return to work. All current dot endorsements were up to date, and i past my dot physical. After i jumped through hoops to get all my requirements met the phone calls stopped coming. I was asked to go to my doctor and get another doctors letter, that was going to be the same one like i got before for another RAR review within only 2 weeks from the first one. When i got the second RAR letter back i was informed that i was denied. Ultimately i was let go after 19+yrs on a separation. I am very dissapointed in fedex freight the way they treated me. The point im trying to make is dont have a major ailment or surgery where ur not an asset to the company. They will treat u like trash!!
