Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Im at a loss on what to do from here.

This is part of a response I posted to someone else that posted on Jobcase. Im posting it here too...

Though I am on unemployment, it is about to run out. I dont know how many job applications and resumes Ive sent out, I still have yet to be offered a job. Im always told that though my experience is impressive, Im not what they are looking for. I did graduate from high school but do not have a degree. I have experience in Administrative Assistant/Receptionist type of positions, but not the actual title. I created a new email specifically for job searches for more professionalism. But I dont know what Im doing wrong. I cant afford to go back to school as Im the one in my family that has the most work experience in multiple fields, but nothing Ive done is good enough. Im at a loss of what to do from here.

Try these hospitals make sure you do State farm United healthcare, Delta dental, cuz all these places are hiring. And you know of course they look at our age. But then they have some jobs that are working from home so look at kellyconnect is one of them and arise is another one and they have Fortune 500 companies that they work for. Also AppleOne. If all else fails go to MFG that's warehouse work Publix Warehouse they hiring, 2020 census bureau is hiring, DHS, look on Team Georgia they have plenty of jobs

As long as you have access to the internet you have access to cheap online learning. Go to Groupon and or Living Social. They always have great deals for ONLINE Learning. Sometime back for $19 I signed up for excel online learning. For that $19 I got 12/30-minute training sessions. Plus I could practice what I learned for 90 days, take online practice tests. So I went from basic excel to pivot tables, Vlookups and creating Macros. And had the certificate specific to Excel back me up from Microsoft. There are lots of online learning classes that do not cost much money, but really will help your resume and are very attractive to employers. Do not give up.

Hi Julie Well the only thing you can do is keep applying and think positive. You can't allow what these people say to you effect you no matter what you must have a good and positive attitude about the situation even though you may not have a college back ground but at least you completed high school. and all the times it depends on who's interviewing you.and i understand you very much just keep on putting in your applications and resumes because eventually something is going to come through for you. Don't beat up on yourself and let me say this one thing i've learned in this life no matter how times flies we must learn how to have PATIENCES It's not going to come any sooner nor slower and the only thing you can do is do your best, and i do believe that something is going to come your way real soon. AND I DO WISH YOU THE BEST JUST BE A LITTLE BIT PATIENCE ITS COMING GOOD LUCK .WHEN YOU GET YOUR NEW JOB PLEASE POST.

Sometimes God will put us in a position where we have to lean and depend on Him. He is showing us that He has Everything in His hands. Go to Him with your concerns. Then allow Him to prove Himself to you. His time is not our time. He will be there on time. God bless you

You have to find a company that values family and financial stability for the family. I have found that these companies will take a chance on a seasoned worker and are not just searching for the next 30 year old for 30 thousand. Look at the company values and mission statement, then approach it from that angle.

Start a business, ask your family to join in with you. Sell things on the internet. Make a deal with wholesalers in China and sell products online. Be creative, and dont give up, just change directions.

I have been there and can be a terrifying experience because no one seems to care. I ran a genealogy business from home for a number of years but that has petered out. I graduated with honors from college and have advanced degrees and I have still had trouble finding suitable employment. I advise you to try to decide something at home until a position comes along.
