Clerk Typist/Medical Records

I got a degree in Billing and Coding, but no one wants to give you a chance to work as a coder or biller. These companies want you to have experience but how are you going to get the experience if they don't give you a chance. Just like they hire you, they can fire you. So now I had to take a job that I knew I use to do so I can make ends meet. I am not giving up. I am from Bronx New York and I am still looking and I am good at what I do.

Community Specialist at Jobcase Inc

Hello Sharon, So glad you could be a part of our Jobcase community! You are definitely not alone in this feeling. There are many other Jobcasers in the medical field trying to figure out how to get started when employers all want someone with experience. One thing that some have mentioned is volunteering positions. These can help you build relationships with someone within the setting you want to work. I would also recommend trying to get in front of as many people as possible. Try to not to rely solely on email and online applications. I did do a search in your area and found some of these medical records positions that may help you. I wish you the best of luck!
