I need help with my resume. I am an RN , but for the past 15 years I have done medical claims reviews for Medicare. What do I need to do to make myself more marketable?

Apply for Allied Health Management positions. If you don't want to stay on the clinical side . Take a chance. I do know Case Management is always in demand.

Hello, If I were you , I would write down the Medicare you worked at and the cases you helped sick people with. You should seek big hospitals, they are always looking for nurses. Best of luck

Hello Deborah I've been told in future its't not always something wrong with your resume but some employers are not willing to pay your worth. if you understand what i mean. So you might need to tone your resume down a notch..ouch i know right. but with your experience and job title the world always need RN's. what state are you in?/

I would gladly assist you. The way you do your resume is to put down medical claims review for Medicare. Put down please what was involved in those reviews and how you escalated and solved problems. Make sure to do a very good opening summary of your position with Medicare. Then put approximately 4 bullet points underneath list of what you have done in those claims reviews included in that the percentage denied as well as approved. Instead of putting at the beginning that you are looking for a position put in the types of systems that you used. If you need any further assistance I will gladly help you for free.

Please put your resume online to word document format that enables you to write pages but not so much so you don’t over do it. Make sure you have your experience in chronological order....

Hi Deborah, I would suggest contacting your local Employment office and request assistance with reviewing and possibly rewriting your resume. Because they use grants and other government funding, their services do not cost you anything and you can get a wealth of information and assistance.

Is your license up to date? Don't sell yourself short. Medical billing is not "but for" job and RNs are ALWAYS needed. You need to sell yourself and be positive no buts about it
