Rosemarie Moore
I have been putting in my resume at various places trying ro get a job doing, coding, billing or transcription. I only recieved one call back for an interview. Should I edit my resume?

Hi Rosemarie are you certified in both fields? Coders now has to be certification because all codes have changed due to ICD/9 changing to ICD-10. All medical coders whether in clinic setting or hospital setting has to pass their broad certification exam to be considered. Now transcription with the healthcare providers using technology like speech recognition and voice activation, we have to have certification for this also. Medical transcription jobs are not so in demand as editing right now.

I accidentally sent my reply for you to someone else so now I'll have to send you the short condensed version I would just like to advise you to go directly to the site of the employer's that you are interested in sometimes the online job site recruitment process has too many applicants applying for the same job that you are applying for and the recruiters for the actual companies don't actually look at all of those applicants I applied for a position and when I looked at the numbers that I was competing with for that one position it was like 200 and something odd numbers that is astronomical so no wonder they did not have an opportunity to look at me it was too many to look at I'm sure that you are in that exact same position but do make sure your resume is updated short sweet and complete have a wonderful day keep smiling it's going to happen for you soon

I have been doing the same since January, and I only had 2 interview, and no hits for anything. I know my resume is not up to date, but I do put in my latest jobs, I have been putting in for some of the simplest jobs like waitress and server and still no hit. What's the problem

It's always a good idea to get someone to critique our resume. Keep in mind that a resume is the way that we get our foot in the door of a potential employer. Recruiter have told me that they're two things that they like to see in a resume. They are (a) a clearly defined vocational goal and (b) lots of 'buzz' words. Every occupation has certain buzzwords. In IT they're words like 'led,' 'participated,' 'authored,' 'created.' They can also check your grammar and spelling. A good resume evaluator can help you format it in a way that will appeal to employers.

Have you tried uploading your resume on Indeed.com job service search that does your profile and puts your resume with it so employers can click in and see who is available. It worked for me .

I have been doing the same, and I know I am capable of doing something, even a waitress and server job. What's the problem

Yes I would and make it as simple and to the point as you can get.
Good luck!

Try Health Care Partners or hospitals for coorinator jobs. Good luck....

Yes I would, that's what I had to do. Get someone to critique your resume to let you know what sections need to be tweeked.
Editing resumes are always great and getting a person to critique it is a plus. In these fields as long as I have been in them, we have to have those credentials. When our healthcare system changed with the Affordable Care Act, we had to change with it. I don't know if you are board certified in these fields but if not, that is something you need to look into.
