Hello Stephen, Welcome to the Jobcase community! Have you been following up on the applications you submit? I always recommend doing this 1-2 days after submitting it to make sure it was received by the company. You can do this by calling, and then again 1 week after to see if you are being considered for the position.

If you do get to the interview stage, but aren't hearing back after that, try sending a thank you note. Get a business card from the interviewer so you know where to send it. Then the following day either email or mail a handwritten thank you to them.
