Dietary Aide at St Paul Hermitage Home Llc

Can someone please explain

So I applied for this job as a Dietary Aide at this nursing home. I went for an interview, got hired, did everything that was needed of me. Now comes the time for me to start work. My first day my trainer was late and I find out that I'm being trained to cook not dietary aide and I'm only gonna be making $9.00, the second day my trainer did not show up until after breakfast was over.

Hi Ms. Dixson. Based upon personal knowledge, nursing homes experience a high turnover of staffing. Your pay rate should have been addressed during the interview. Obviously it was not by both you or your employer. However, if you can stay and offer your services, that will be awesome. Ask about overtime if that will help you. $9 is low. Find out when they can offer more plus benefits. Blessings!

Didn’t you ask them how much you would be paid during the interview? You could make more working fast food.

No dietary aide and cook are 2 different titles actually.... I am a cook and the dietary aide duties are totally different from my duties

Wow another " Hired under false pretenses " scenario. Hate to tell you but "Dietary Aide " and "cook" are kind of the same thing. A simple case of semantics but what are you going to do ? Hire a lawyer and sue them for....exactly nothing. Again, nature of the employment process. Lying and deceiving is the norm and a level playing field doesn't exist. Deal with it or move on......

You do not want to cook? Keep looking as you "help out". Hurry up and find the business you'd rather be doing, before you get too involved. No doubt you can 'burn' in the kitchen. Do not spoil them! Get what IS for You. It is certainly out there...waiting on You.
