What else can I do?
I work as a waiter and they never schedule me for friday nights. They say it's not a "you gotta pay your dues" kind of situation but I can't help but feel like it is since the oldest employees get friday nights. I've been arriving for shifts earlier and staying extra to clean up more, are there any other ways I can impress my manager and show that I'm good enough for the money shifts?

Hey Mia, sometimes it's as simple as telling your manager you want to be put on Friday evenings, and asking what you can do to be considered for the schedule. Persistence is key here.

Hello Mia- Make yourself available to cover call-outs Friday’s and weekends. Everyone wants a weekend day off at one time or another so talk to the other servers that have regular schedules on those days and offer to cover a shift for them if they want to take a last minute day off. The key is to be open and available anytime they call and be ready to impress your boss with the level of service you provide quests.
