$10,000 a year for a full time job?! Can they do that legally?!
I just came from a job interview for a full time receptionist job, M-F 8 am - 5 pm. The salary is $10,000-$12,000 a year! That is $4.80-$5.76 an hour! That isn't even minimum wage! I live in SC. Is this even legal? I started out making $10,185 a year at an entry level job back in 1985! Comments on this, please!

Is it part time?

That is crazy

Thats not legally...

That is absurd! First off minimum wage in SC is $7.25. My thought is they wanted to see your reaction. My personal opinion is to be patient, find what you are worth and continue your search. I For one realize how difficult it can be to be out of a job. I too am over 50. The college I worked at for over 14 years went out of business without any warning. I'm not sure how the Department of Labor works in SC, but in NY there are all sorts of networking workshops and different learning tools to help bring you up to speed. It took me close to a year to find what I was looking for in a job. I worked for a temp agency where I was able to find something I truly enjoyed. So there's hope, don't just accept any job for the sake of having a job. Keep your search going, take something apart time until you find what it is you are looking for. It takes time. Good luck and don't even look back at that place offering 10k, that is just an insult.

WHOAH! That's crazy?! I would run far far away from that "job" offer - sounds like they want you to work for pretty much free!
