Will my husband be fired?
I don't know why he did this but he used his work computer to look for other jobs, mind you he has a perfectly good computer at home but he just decided to open his personal email and not only looked for open jobs but also applied to some of them using his work computer. I am paranoid about this kind of stuff, his company has a ton of rules about how they can control and see everything they do. He's the only one working for the family at the moment and now that he did that I am just worried that someone would find out. He said he erased his searches but I know that stuff is not fully gone.

I doubt they'll fire him.

Fyi this post is trending.i would prolly take it down just Incase jobcase is sumn his boss frequents. May not get fired even but could bring him some heat. With all due respect people are more aware then we imagine n all it would take is one look at this for him to be busted ,just saying. I know how higher ups can be

No he won't. That's not probably cause. Now if he was telling everyone how bad the job is and being negative about the company to other employees then yes they have probable cause. Just searching and applying to places is not.

You should take this post down so that no one else sees it with your name and finds out about it just by chance

While it is generally a good idea to "keeps ones eyes open" (ESPECIALLY if he feels that his job is unsatisfactory or tenuous), it is ALWAYS unwise to do a job search on a company computer. Most companies keep security and/or tracking software on laptops, and while they probably don't review every employee every day, they may call up a report randomly or if they have reason to believe their employee is acting unprofessionally (and they have a legal right to DO so!). Ask you husband if he is feeling uncertain about his position, and advise him STRONGLY to not do job research on a company supplied computer, but only on his private one or one unassociated with work (i.e. at the library). Maranatha

Why would he do that and knowing he is the only one working and risk putting the well being of your family on the line. Does he not think of his family first or is he not that bright....

That makes no sense why would he do this on his job because they see everything anyway 😅🤠

There is a possibility that he gets found out, but not likely. Still never a good idea to do what he did especially when he has his own laptop to look for jobs on. Not only does it come of as very disrespectful if he gets himself compromised, but it will leave the company to believe they will get left high and dry when he finds a job. They could find a replacement and let him go. Now with all that said. If your husband is and exceptional worker and they don't want to see him go it could be genius to let them fall into what he is up too. Could call him in and negotiate better pay, position etc. It's a gamble though and the odds are on the house.

I agree with both comments, it’s highly unlikely someone is monitoring his computer. He can just delete individual searches on computer by day, do not delete everything single thing. And again make sure he is not supposed to be working. If it’s a laptop, just bring home and do at night.
It is probably nothing. But you can never tell. I knew there was a manager at a previous employer. He did a lot for the company and was a valued contributor. He was busted on more than one occasion for visiting child porn sites. Nothing happened. He kept doing his job and one day, he was fired. I think he embezzled money. You're safe until you affect their bottom line. Another employer indicated that they track the websites you visit. Their policy was no porn. I just had two websites I went to to order the glassware at the lab. Except, on 9/11 it was expected that we watch the news when we had downtime that day. A couple of employers allowed any website as long as it was not porn, on our breaks. After a while one started blocking social media and personal email. Tell him not to go to social media, personal email, and of course porn while at work.
