Frustrated......
So here's my frustration. I have been unemployed for two months now after being with a company I loved but because of budget cuts, my position was the first to go. Now I'm in search of employment but the problem is according to all the interviewers I'm either over qualified or not qualified enough. I've literally applied to over 200 jobs and I've had over 100 interviews. What is wrong with me? I'm really starting to feel like I'm not good enough. Money is tight with only my husband working and I'm going to lose my home if something doesn't change very soon.

Start your own business

Take a retail position, restaurant or a temp position to help you thru financially until you can find that next good job.

There is a better job waiting you somewhere. Keep searching don’t give up

Never lose faith. Your lack of confidence will show through your interview. Carry with you a high degree of self worth, and put your best foot forward. The right opportunity will come around.

You know what you're looking for a go for it it won't hurt you if you try you don't try you're going to have a job to live on and that's the truth

Nichole Nichole Nichole… Nichole my dear, never ever ever, give up on yourself. Others can if they want. It’s their prerogative. Well, we all know how that, “you are over qualify or under the table crab is all about. To them, they feel by saying that crab , they are saving your fragile little itsy bitsy feeling from being hurt. You know what you need to do is to go and take a serious look at yourself in the mirror. You need to find your path and an understanding of your inner-self in order to make your outer-self feels that life is beautiful, wonderful, and most of all, finding your happiness. People can talk talk talk talk. The main thing is, you can or can be listening to it. Believe in yourself. Trust yourself. You are the only who are able to lift that on your face. Good luck.

First be grateful for what you have. Sounds counter-intuitive but it helps define the energy you project out into the world. When they say you are overqualified, ask them to clarify their concerns. Are they concerned you would become bored with the job and leave? If you really love the industry or job then tell them that even if that is the case you want the job because you love the industry and would be not only qualified but appreciative and highly motivated as well. In other cases, where you don't really care for the business, ask them to point out the exact area you are overqualified in, then possibly other aspects of the job that you will learn and grow from, even though you may in fact be overqualified in a few other aspects.

Hi Nichole, You may need to change careers altogether... This exact thing happened to me after 23 years and I had no idea of how I was going to make it. However, I managed to seek out training in a career that would balance out my transferable skills, making me more appealing to employers... Too, you may need to revamp your resume and wardrobe. Confidence is exuded from the attire you choose to wear for your interviews; it also helps with your esteem. Its time to tell a new story about yourself. Instead of Nichole the (fill in the blank) you can now be Nichole the entrepreneur or the banker or any other title you feel deserving of but most importantly, stay encouraged. Things will Turn around soon. Good luck!
