Hi Erileidy! I have a couple suggestions that may help get your foot in the door with kids: • Get CPR and First Aid certified. Most hospitals offer this via a brief and usually free class. This is required in almost all child-related jobs. • See if there are any jobs around as an aide at a daycare center. • Look for volunteer opportunities, either to do before getting a job or in conjunction with a job. After-school and recreational programs always need help, whether they're through a school or at a community center. The same goes for youth groups and Sunday School. • Try Care.com. I don't know if they're available everywhere, but they can get you at least some temporary work. • It may seem unrelated, but see if there are volunteer or entry-level positions at nursing homes and other care facilities. Getting that experience working with adults who need help can bolster skills needed to work with kids (flexibility, willingness to do the "dirty" jobs, working with challenging people, having a tender yet stern personality, etc).

Hi Erileidy: Thanks for posting to Jobcase! If you don't have a lot of job experience, it might be best to start by looking for jobs in grocery stores and movie theaters - they hire a lot of teens, plus you can build the kind of customer service skills that employers are really looking for. Would that be something that interests you?
