I can completely understand. Not every job is for every person, and employers should understand that. This is why I believe the better employers should use a "try it before you buy it" type system and allow an employee to work in an environment on a trial basis so both employer and employee can see if they are a good fit. Another reason why many employers waste time with long, drawn out application and interview processes only to get someone in who may not work out anyway. Again, use probationary or trial basis for employees, and then this allows for an easy out for both the employee and employer. At this time, Jamie, since you only took the job to help pay bills and not as a career move, just be honest and admit that after actually working there, you don't believe that you are a good fit for the company or the work duties. Any reasonable employer should be able to accept that answer.

I worked a telemarketing job for one day once. I completely understand. I just talked to the manager and said that the job was ending up being too much of a conflict with my schedule and that I wasn't going to be able to make it work. I didn't tell him that the one night of work gave me a huge headache.
