My advice to people interested in this job field, Empathy and compassion, and Patience and hardworking. You cannot step into this field of work without realizing that you become that client's lifeline. If you choose not to go to work, that client suffers, without access to daily things that we sometimes take for granted. Most clients do not have the ability to reach things on high shelves anymore or sometimes need help bathing and dressing. They are sometimes upset at the fact that they are no longer able to do things that they once were able to. You cannot go into this field expecting to not have any emotional attachment. If you are doing this job right, these people very quickly stop being clients and become family.
