How long does it normally take to get hired?
I am asking this today because I applied for a part time job at Kroger last week and it's been a week already and I haven't been notified at all. Also when I called the Kroger place I wanted to work at, the administrative person told me that my application has to go through a screening, then they see if I have anything that Kroger need, and that the store its self can't look at my application until it's sent to them by the people at Kroger HQ or whatever it's called.

Hi Michael: Definitely a good question. A lot of places like Kroger go through the same process, where the district manager has to review all the applications before sending his/her recommendations to each store manager. It can be lengthy, so I would plan on a few weeks. In the meantime, you should definitely check out other job opportunities near you, since you don't want to wait around while Kroger reviews your application. Here’s how to see who’s hiring near you:

  • Click on the “Jobs & Companies” text at the top of this page
  • Enter the type of job role you're looking for
  • Click the blue search button If you see something that looks interesting, just click View Job and follow the instructions to apply. Let us know how it works out for you!
