Troubled and Worn-Out!
I’m constantly harassed at work. Co-workers and sups are verbally and psychologically abusing me as a tactic to get me to quit. I can’t believe this is happening to me! I reported it to corporate last month and the situation got worse. Unfortunately, this has been going on for the last year and I’m at wits end. The stress is effecting my work performance, personal life, and mental well being. I started looking for another job but haven’t been able to find something suitable enough to make a move. What can I do to fix this without making it worse or losing my job?

Looks like you have a lot of support for coping with this painful job situation. Plus, you have information for legal options. Our primary goal is to flip your spirit into a positive, "go-get-a-better-job" frame of mind. For example, finding job counseling, changing your job goals, backing away from parts of your job you can delegate, and thinking outside the box. This is the wrong job environment for you. These are not your people. I've tried all kinds of different ways to change my job prospects. I not there yet. I believe the strategy is a combination of meeting with new people for possible jobs, plus personal counseling if you can afford it, plus resources on the Internet. Most important is to meet new people, break out of old people routines, and expand your options. Take a course to upgrade your skills. School is good. Turn what feels bad into energy to fight your way to your future. Think of an image of your hero doing something the knocked your socks off. Try to get some of that courage for yourself.

HALF the battle is you know what they want, your plan turn it around, i went thru the same exact crap this full frontal attack, which means that they had to convene a meeting to put this plan into motion, so you come up with a divide and conquer plan, i did and you know what the cheif attackers reward was when i got thru?.. ( married two kids, gorgeous wife ).he got to sit in the warehouse mens room, door removed from the hinges, sitting on a throne with a six foot four inch tall australian white males cock in his mouth for four straight hours!!! for all during busy time to see and picture taking allowed, see what i mean??...figure a way to put something in that uppercase farthole and me ?...no i'm not a fag but diplomacy in vengeance makes for a better world

Keep your job for now Denise,, its hard to get another job, Employers "" FROWN"' on. Ppl who quit.. When you get the new job, then you can tell those ppl to stick it!!!

Hi Alexis. Call EEOC...Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. They handle cases like this...gather all information and as much proof that you can ...I would even record on my phone if you can...This is definitely a law sue. This time Type a letter to Corporate and make sure you keep a copy and ask that they write you back that way you will have proof that you wrote to Corporate about the harassment. They will investigate yes this is free.

First off the job was supposed to do something about that . Bullying is against the law no one should have to go threw this, I read a comment about you going to another job & I DON'T agree with that . You are a GROWN WOMEN !!! If you like you job then look forward into getting them in trouble. Your job don't want to do nothing the police will be more than happy to help you out . I wish you luck boo you don't deserve that

Why is this being done to you ?

I had the same problem, they tried everything making me very uncomfortable for almost a year. One day they called me in and terminated me then lied to unemployment when I filed. I waited and stayed positive, appealed and got a break when they didn't respond to our three way conversation. I had the chance to explain and gave details, the next day I was notified I had won. Its not my whole paycheck amount but I can budget while I look. Stay positive and be ready to explain, at least you called corporate which is documented.

I just happen to go on the net, I'm on vacation where internet is rather expensive. I'm responding because I see you are a fellow New Yorker. Kick ass and take names. See an employment attorney at once. Let's see how those smart asses like that. For a minimal fee, they can send them a letter. Not providing a safe environment to work at is against the law. New Yorkers are strong, don't take bullshit. That letter will do the trick. Then turn them into the labor board. Don't bother with recordings, get them legally. Meanwhile, write to the mayor for further direction. Put the fear of God into them!! New York strong!!! Good Luck

Alexus,
It sounds like you are in a really abusive environment. Since you mentioned your work has suffered, and has carried into your personal life, and has created psychological problems as well. I would start documenting everything and pay close attention to who may have witnessed the abusive behaviors of your superiors. I would also tried to benchmark your performance prior to the mental abuse, and compare your performance to other workers who performed the same job.
Next, I would start going to see a psychiatrist , and doctor who determined your psychological state, and any physical illness that may have arisen as a result of your abusive superiors. You never know, but you may qualify for disability. If you do, I would seek an attorney to get the justice you deserve. Your abusers will all of a sudden realize that you are no longer a victim, and decide to take the offensive, and declare war on them. Nothing gets corporate's attention then a lawsuit. Why? It makes the company look bad, and creates a massive morale problem that will eventually cripple the company. If you will take these actions, remember don't look back. No mercy until justice is achieved.
If you know you are a good company asset, and you like going to work and you call in very little, take your complaint one step higher up the chain. Give it a few days and still no answer then take it on up. Have patience but do show the company that you will not tolerate harrassment. As they should not. Write the complaint up and turn in to your Human Resources division after making you a copy for your files. Use all your resources available. Good luck
