The Job Fair is next Week! Are you Prepared?

There will be 36 Employers who are ready to hire great talent at the Job Fair. How will you stand out? Are you prepared? Here are a few free tips:

  1. Do your homework by applying for positions in advance- recruiters love to hear, "Hello my name is ____, I am very interested in working for your company. I applied to ________ position on May ____. "

  2. Dress professionally. There will be space on-site for interviews - it could be your lucky day.

  3. There will likely be multiple job seekers at each table competing for the employer's attention. Be sure to be confident and ask relevant questions. "What are you looking for in an employee?" "What are the next steps in the hiring process?"

  4. Be prepared to answer this #1 Question at each Employer that you speak to, "Tell me about yourself?" Always answer from a professional prospective, (knowing how many kids you have or your hobbies is nice but it won't help you land a job)

  5. Smile :), thank the recruiters for their time, give a firm handshake and ask for a business card to follow-up.

  6. Sign-up for Cincinnati Works services and they will give you more tips on preparing for job fairs, interviews, and connect you to Employer Partners who are hiring in Greater Cincinnati.
