What do you do when your over age 70, at work, and get a speeding ticket?

Look for another job! Your employer's insurance company checks the driving record for each of their driving employees. Drivers over age 70 are considered too high of a risk for the insurance companies,

Why Denny, do what anyone else who gets a speeding ticket would do, pay the ticket and any surcharges on insurance! God Bless you!

In AZ, if you haven't had any other tickets within a certain time period, you are allowed to take an approved safe driving class, and the ticket is never recorded. Check what the rules are in your state. I'm also working at past age 70, so I feel your pain.

I think that maybe you could take a defensive driving course this should help prove that you want to keep driving and that your serious about being a good causes driver .

Unless your job requires a perfect driving record or driving a company car is required, it shouldn't matter. Some suggested some good ideas while the others are live in their negativity. Two great ideas are to contact the officer and ask him what you can do to minimize the sentence. Be sure to attend the court date. If for any reason the officer can't be there, the ticket might be dismissed and expunged. If you are charged then request traffic school. The cost is not cheap but once completed, the insurance company will never get a report and your record will show a charge dismissal for completing the class.

Ignore these rocket scientists saying retire. This is not the place for negativity and judgement. I would suggest you seek guidance from other commentators who seem to want to actually help you with advice. Keep a positive mindset. I wish you well.

First-allow me to applaud you, and your age.... Your 70+ and STILL working? Sorry about your ticket... your age, knowledge, and experience, should count in your situation..... Maybe....( and I say this with genuine respect) you should consider retirement... If not a option just drive a little more carefully..... Take care and please give us a update... ♊✌

Denny,

You might want to consider seeking a traffic lawyer to see if the ticket can be dismissed. I've had a situation like this happen in the past as I was mistaken for someone else who was speeding, and because we both had black cars at the time I was pulled over instead of the actual speeder. My traffic lawyer fought the ticket and it was dismissed.

I would suggest maybe starting there beforehand.

Best of luck!
