Certificate of Qualifications for Employment

Proof of rehabilitation certificates, removal of the ‘Felony Question' from applications, and sealing records. How do you think these laws, if passed, would impact employers hiring policies? Would there still be room left for bias? See, Collateral Sanctions reform law will make it easier for job seekers with felony records to get hired

They would have less excuses to pass people over for employment and low balling their pay. Everyone deserves to earn a liveable wage if they are able to do the job in question

I started following this on the news this week. Yeah man I think it's awesome that at least they're talking about it. Prisons and jails are loaded with people like you and me who made stupid mistakes and are paying an unfairly heavy price for it!!! Not to say the challenges they have re-establishing a life after time served. It better for the country to give folks an opportunity to start over and contribute to the working community. Just the other night they had an ex felon who got out eventually enrolled in Law School and now is working as an advisor to a organization supporting legislation. There are tons of stories like these.

I think it would allow people who deserve a second chance to get one. There always be room to be bias because fear of change

It’s about time. Some of these cases are so obvious and i think it affects everyone with mistakes made on their past trying to rebuild their lives. If you served your time and have managed to stay away from those activities for 30 + years then why shouldn't you have the same opportunity as everyone else. Bias will always exist mainly because we’re fear driven. I believe most employers will embrace the opportunity to recruit from a bigger pool of candidates. I just think that given a 2nd chance people with mistakes in their past are driven and will do well.
