I am in search of a job where my skills as financial analyst, project management and other skills can be put to use. I have had difficulty getting an interview with the numerous organizations I have applied to. I am 57 years old. I am wondering if that is having an effect. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?

YOU ARE 100% RIGHT ITS CALLED NETWORKING and forms applications resumes DONT NETWORK . YOUR PLACED IN THE WE MIGHT CALL THEM SOMEDAY FILE. while its a cliche THERE IS SOME TRUTH OF ITS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW BUT WHO YOU KNOW OR WHO GETS TO KNOW YOU. sometimes you can be a NICE PERSON THAT BOTHERS THE COMPANY THEY WANT TO WORK FOR. IT SHOWS YOU WANT THE JOB BAD:

Do you follow up on your applications? That might help you to get some interviews. Also, try talking with managers in person. I think it's easier to get an interview when they can see you and your personality instead of just a form on the computer.
