Im looking to work in a hospital. I have been a nurse aid for 20yrs and im working 2 full time jobs in 2 different nursing homes. And neither one is paying me enough. Can some one plz help me. And i stay in Dallas Texas.

Nina, Have you checked with your employers to see if they have a program that will pay for you to advance your licensing? As a CNA, it is really hard to be paid enough to really live on. That's a sad statement, but true. If your employers do not have a program, check with your local community college or Vo-Tech about programs that available in many states. More tough facts: There is a nursing shortage throughout the country. However, we keep requiring advanced certifications that keep very competent people from obtaining many of the positions that need filling. It is a catch 22 for patients, caregivers and care organizations. good luck!

Hi Nina, Have you thought of taking classes online to be a LVN or RN? This could eliminate your two full time jobs and free you up to make more money. Nurses are always needed all over. If you don't want to sleep and take the necessary classes online I really think that could solve some of your worries. I truly hope so. Lisa Renwick
