Technical Recruiter at Qualitest Group

Top Producer...

I had been a Top Producer recruiter at my last position and held that title for many months until they decided to make management changes and let go of me plus others so they could bring in jr's to pay less and mold to their acceptability. I have been out of work for almost 4 months now. I have applied myself, made myself open to salary drops and different environments, and to the points of having a final face to face interview. I still have nothing. I am looking for work in North Dallas. Can't seem to get any good feedback from past interviews nor do I see any new positions really opening up. Would love some perspective from this source of professionals.. ?? Thank You.

Regina, I'm not sure what kind of industry you are in, but I have seen a ton of Recruiting positions open lately. I myself have been out of work for almost 6 months and am currently looking as well. I would advise that you have someone to look at your resume, make sure you have quantifiable metrics in their, that it's no longer than 2 pages and move forward quickly. Check indeed.com, ladders, linkedin, glassdoor.com etc. They all have recruiters jobs on there. If you are on linkedin, check and see if you have any contacts at the particular company and reach out to them. Literally the worst that they can say is "No" they won't help or refer you, but you will be surprised how many people will say yes, if you just ask. I've gotten the majority of my interviews this way. It's no longer what you know, but who you know. Good luck!

Unfortunately it can be difficult to know what companies are looking for when they interview you. One thing that could be holding you back is your resume. Are you making sure it is relevant to the job you are applying for? You should add it to your Jobcase profile so others can give you advice on that.

Another things that is always a nice and helpful gesture is to send a thank you note after an interview. It shows you are appreciative of the interviewers time and your interest in the job/company. Keep going!!! Something will definitely come along.
