It's God who gives us the skills and talents we need to do our jobs. He doesn't promise to give us what we want - God is not a cosmic genie in a bottle - but He does provide our basic needs. He does bless some more than others for reasons that none of us can fully understand on this side of eternity. I know Christians who are well off and just as many who struggle week to week.

Still, it does try the patience of a person who has great faith and prays continually for a job, but hears nothing but silence. There are times when God allows trials in our lives, not to hurt us, but to strengthen our faith and make us stronger. I've had way more than my share of storms. Still do. But I've come to realize that He allows the storms in my life to draw me closer to Him, to make me understand that I've accomplished nothing on my own, and perhaps most importantly, to teach me how to use my experiences to minister to others.

Consider too, that if you have prayed and prayed for a job and think God isn't answering, that may be an answer in and of itself. It might be that He wants you to go in a different direction. You might not be working in the career field He wants you in. He might have something better in store for you. He may want you to go back to college or trade school so He can put you in position where He can use you. And sometimes, He might want a person to downsize, so to speak. We had a former oil company executive give his testimony at our church a few years ago. He was making a high six figure salary but was absolutely miserable. It wasn't until he left the oil company and took a much lower position (both in pay and prestige) at a non-profit that he finally found peace.

So pray not just for a job, but that you will be in the center of His will for your life. Pray for His protection because Satan is out there wreaking havoc in the world. Pray, but also keep in mind that you have to do your part. Faith is not passive. It is proactive. Yes, patience is required, as Job learned. But we also have to be prepared so that when we're called, we're ready.

Reginald, Remember you are responsible for yourself and we all have faith. it is one way or the next and you are entitle to yours. The Almighty God do exist weather you know it or not, that is your entitlement. Yes, I have seen him if you may ask. He is real. Now if you feel any different well, YOU NEED HELP.
