Contract Worker at Adecco

Cannot find a job . HELP!

All these employers are stingy. Its very hard to get a job without having about 2- 5 years of experience of something... its such a shame. I have my associates degree in fashion retail/ business management...I give up. Im pregnant, got laid off from my last job. every job i apply to never gets back with me. I am hoping for a work from home job . Soon i will be homeless. Anyone know of some work from home job currently hiring?

Hi Jalisa,

I am sorry you feel lost, but now is the time to reach deep down and find your inner strength. You CAN do this and you need to be strong even when things seem at their worst. Focus on what is good for the health of yourself and your baby (he/she can sense those things).

Check out these [customer service] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search?q=customer+service&l=Wilson+NC&r=25&ex=1&group=&sources%5B%5D=CB&sources%5B%5D=ID&sources%5B%5D=GD&sources%5B%5D=JC) jobs!

I think the Bed Bath and Beyond (but apply to any you see that you like) sounds like a good fit for now as they have flexible hours and seem to have a nice attitude towards their employees. I suggest going down to the store itself and filling out an application in person (or print out one and bring it in) and immediately after asking for the manager of the store. If they say they are not in then come back when they are or ask who else you could speak to.

Introduce yourself and tell him/her that you just wanted to say hello and let them know you just applied. Mention that you really have enjoyed spending time in the store as a customer, but now you would like to give customers the great service you have always had at this location. Then mention three reasons why you would be an asset to their store. Make sure to SMILE and look happy that day or at any other customer service job introduction or interview. Remember that companies hire the faces of those to represent them so they want you to be overly friendly, happy and engaged in what you do.

Do NOT mention at anytime that you are struggling to find work, your pregnancy (which is illegal for them to ask you and they won't inquire), or anything negative. Represent yourself as cool, calm, pleasant and collected. Show your best self even though right now you aren't feeling the best. Wear a dress down to the store or pants and a dressy top, stand up straight and be confident. Think of it as a pre-interview, so set yourself apart from everyone else. Think about what makes you awesome!

As for unemployment make sure to follow up! They denied me a few years ago and I had to fight it. Grab a book (it might take awhile for you to be seen) and head down to the office to ask them what the next steps you can take and why you were denied. They should also be able to help you find a new job. Sometimes it's best to hear things in person, I remember the phone took FOREVER so I gave up on that process.

I hope this helps, keep me posted Jalisa!! Good luck.

Hey Shanelle,

First of all congrats on your pregnancy, how exciting! Yes, it's really tough when employers won't take a chance on you if they don't see enough experience, but maybe you just need to find the right job that lines up with your skills. If you were laid off did you make sure to apply for unemployment if you are eligible in the mean time? I went to take a look at your skill set and saw you didn't have a resume online here with us at Jobcase. If you want to add one or message me your skills I am happy to help give you a list of jobs you can take a look at that would be a good fit for you. With the pregnancy it does sound like a work from home would be best as you will need that time after the baby comes to be with him/her as well as take care of yourself. So let me know your past job history (create a free resume) and your skill set and let's help you find some great opportunities! Do you have a preference of what type of jobs would you be interested in (fashion primarily)?
