Friend needs to find another ride to work

I've been driving my best friend to work every day for the past 2 years (we had been working at the same store). Last week I got transferred to a store across town but he still relies on me for a ride--this has made me late every day so far! He is nervous to bring it up with other coworkers and ask for a ride. Has anyone else ever had to do this? What should I tell him to do?

Is there public transportation around you? You could suggest he do that? or suggest he bike to work...

You were never required to drive your friend in the first place- you were doing him a favor. He should respect that, but nothing will change if you don't have a conversation with him.

Tell him that you will not be available to drive him any longer and that he should seek other transportation. Nothing personal, but heck your situation has changed. Uber??
