Any solid suggestions?
So reading others posts, I am still stumped . I moved to NC from MI. I had a great job in healthcare, but that state is too cold. I have an associates and a bachelors and working on my masters and you guessed it "over qualified" or "under qualified". It seems that all the jobs down here want "certification" with the degrees. I have applied from retail to management to clerical and postal- and have been without a job since mid sept- oh and "if you are unemployed they won't hire you cuz they think you are taking the job just for a job"- no I am only applying for what I am willing to do.
Help!!! I won't move back to MI but I am so lost looking and applying to so many places a day I need a guardian angel to give me some direction- please :-)
GO shoot for healthcare they are always hiring !!! ,Right now you have to wait for January cause no place will hire you till the New Year payroll is to much paperwork for the end of the year, Be patient and stay strong North Carolina is a beautiful place to live sure beats MI !!!!!
Tina, I can tell you that Hospital Admin. or Hospital Outplacement Dir. is directly in your grasp. Now, I lived in Fayettville and Lumberton, N. C. for about 2 yrs. each. Pembroke Cancer Ins. Duke University Medical, and There are plenty of smaller hospitals all along Tobacco Road.... That's I-85/95 for you Northern folk. I think that physical therapy positions there are a good start. Most of the Carolina Panthers are in need of your services. Not really hard for you to get hired. You just gotta plan, aim, and narrow down the search. And please don't try to do it all on line. Go into the hospital district. And I have taken the time to check. Some positions DO REQUEST that you certifie within 45-90 days AFTER you are hired. Some places just want you to prove your education. Now I did the homework assignment I'll need you to EXECUTE your plan of attack. Oh yeah, I was told by a friend who was in the army with me to tell you only your MS and BS are to be listed on your resume. He only need to see 2 TOTAL PAGES...... That's all the help that I'm able to give you here. Effect written resume here. Not pages of time consuming writing.
Maybe you should look at getting a temp job. That way you have something on your resume that shows you're working and you could get some good experience.
