Experience required
I moved to Florida inn 2014 and I completed a PCT training course last year October but since then I have been having a really hard time trying to apply for a position as Patient Care Technician. As it stands I do not have 2 years experience in the role but it's a requirement to apply. I do not understand how I can gain the 2 years experience if I am not employed in order to meet the requirements. Please help.

Hello Lisa, Welcome to the Jobcase community! You are among many who are unsure about who to get into these types of positions without the experience they call for. One thing that has been mentioned is looking for opportunities to volunteer. This can be very helpful as you will gain some experience while also building connections with people who may be able to help acquire a position. Volunteering can even be done while you are also working in a different position, so you still have an income while you are building up your resume. I hope this is helpful!
Most hospitals will hire you as a PCT without any experience as long as you have worked as a CNA (certified Nurse aide) for at least 6 months
