What are the pro’s or Positives of a Package Handler job?
I’ve heard plenty of con’s about these jobs and stories about people walking out of the job on the first day but are there any pros? UPS and FedEx are hiring right now and I need to find work before the holidays. Is this a good option?

It is good and may have difficult days. They work everyday and every Saturday. You just have one day off with family and friends.

It is good, but you every weekend with just one day with your family and friends.

You may have the ability to move up in the company. Otherwise....you would have to be really strong and really patient...not worth the very little money or bennies they are willing to offer...I looked at the situation myself, and I am a strong girl...but this is literally back-breaking!

If you can handle the pace. I did a season with ups as a driver and it was physically demanding, but i got through. Just remember to lift with your legs and stay hydrated and you'll be fine.

I have done truck losing and unloading at target warehouse before and I know it's not ups or FedEx but same concept and the job is demanding but the benefits both physical and monetary are great it's like getting paid to go work out . Yes it does get hot and cold inside the trailers but the money is worth it and you won't need that gym membership plus most of their hiring is done based on performance anyways you work hard enough you'll be full time in no time

UPS gives immediate college tuition reimbursement benefits upon hire. If you're a student the drudge work is worth the lessening on your school loans.

If u like to work out & get paid for it, then yes. I'm an employee for FedEx Ground & a ex seasonal from UPS for the last 2 yrs. I love my career. U can get benefits, pd vacation after I finish the requirements. U get discounts. It is a very demanding job. U have to have that very fast pace working with both companies. In the warehouses when it's cold outside, it's gonna be cold inside same with the hotness. Dress per temp. U can move up in the companies. If u are a non stop physical person who enjoys moving around nonstop for about 4 hrs. Then this is a job for u. It is well worth learning everything that u can. My job does get stressful, but really what job doesn't? Honestly u won't know if this job is for u unless u give a try to see how it goes. I know both companies are hiring in Louisiana right now. If u apply for FedEx Ground, go to watch a sort observation so u can see hands on. UPS takes u through the facility only.

how can I apply

James Back in my college time i worked for fedex ground i love it and i enjoyed doing it at the time. Now if i will go back to work for them again yes i will do. But ups some of my college Classmate used to work them they say that ups timing you while you unload the truck or load the truck. But fedex ground dont just make sure the truck unload. My advice go with fedex and better pay rate too plus help you with education.
They are both great jobs. Just work from the bottom up and do the best you can do don't kiss nobody's butt.
