I've been searching employment in NC as a Leasing agent since I've relocated in June, 2020. Unfortunately, I haven't been successful. I'm connected with LinkedIn and Careerbuilder. Also, I've had an expert to review my resume and he told me that the issue was my age. I'm 52 years old. I graduated from high school and 24 college credits. My skills was developed from my experience as a Human Services Assistant for Social Workers.

Thank you so much for the resources and words of inspiration.

Iam a 53yr old white male, BT and MBA in your same boat, 23yrs in Supply Management... been looking since laid off in May... not even a hit of interest....

Age is becoming an ever increasing factor due to a ever increasing younger working population to include higher immigration numbers. In your cover letter emphasize your maturity, dependability, and knowledge ( work and life experience). You are not old, but your not young by current societal standards. Young people today who are not career driven are not dependable, come and go, your maturity is your strength. 😋

It is not your age! It is just a tough market. I’m facing the same issues

Your age is never an issue. I have seen those who are 80 land jobs here in the community, it's most definitely your resume and how you frame yourself. Check out some tips on how to update yours here. You have got this!!
