Hi Mistey, To follow up to Mariah's post, I found this great link if you are needing to get training to be a dental assistant http://www.learnhowtobecome.org/dental-assistant/

Hi Mistey: Thanks for your words of encouragement! Jobcasers are super awesome, so you're definitely in a great community here :)
I looked at your profile to see where you did your training as a dental assistant, but I didn't see anything. If you've completed your training, I would add that to your Jobcase profile. If not, let us know and we can help you find a school where you can learn to be a dental assistant/hygenist. Thanks!
Hello, Mistey:
As a fellow Jobcaser who is also new to the scene, I welcome you to our network. In the less than full week that I have been a Jobcaser, I have already received some very helpful feedback. I'm confident that you will find a lot of support and help here in this forum, and I wish you the best of luck in your career endeavors... you are most definitely NOT sounding stupid at all!!
I have noticed in your profile pic, that you have a child. I commend you on your ambition to become a Dental Assistant. I have a son of my own, and I know how tough it can be to work, go to school, and be a parent. I would highly encourage you to pursue this lucrative and rewarding career field. There are plenty of accredited schools that will train you for this. Since you are a parent, you might want to consider doing your training ON LINE. I earned my college diploma for Medical Administrative Assistant online, and did it in 11 months. I found the online program offered much more flexibility than I would have had if I went to a classroom each day. Although there are plenty of schools to choose from, I would highly recommend finding one that is "accredited", as a lot of healthcare employers find these types of educational institutions more reputable. Based on your income, you might even qualify for tuition assistance, such as a government PELL GRANT, to help shave off tuition costs. Best of luck to you... I hope this was helpful.
