Scam Alert
I was contacted by CIGNA Healthcare or a company that represented themselves as CIGNA Healthcare, about a position that turned out to be a scam. All job seekers - please be careful with what information you give out over the phone, internet and now they'be infatuated Instant Messenger (Google Hangouts, Yahoo Messenger, etc). I've worked in HR for a number of years and everytime they asked me for something I would counter their request ... "We need you to Scan and email us a copy of your Drivers License." - I will provide you with my I-9 documentation when you provide me with an Offer Letter and a new hire package.
Today, they reached out to me and told.me that FedEx had tried to make a delivery to me at 6:35am and that I needed to call this number ASAP to arrange for the package to be redelivered. Before I made the call, I went to FedEx Tracking online and saw that the tracking number provided had been returned to the FedEx hub because it had been refused on deli very. I called FedEx (1-800-GoFedEx) and not the number provided. The lady at FedEx told me the package # was a fraudulent shipment.

Welp, I guess I'm late to the party. I received a text on 08/07/24 addressed to "Dear Applicant" (first red flag) saying how they (Lacey Compton) was impressed with my background and had a position for a Data Entry /Customer Service Specialist. I was asked to download the Microsoft Teams app in order to chat. They provided the benefits and hourly rate. I was then told to answer the qualifying questions. Fast forwarding ahead, I was offered a position and sent an offer letter without a formal interview (another red flag). Later I was told in order to purchase the Cigna hardware, they'd send me a check via email so I could print it and deposit it via my banking mobile app (another red flag). I played with them for a while, back and forth with why couldn't Cigna just purchase what I need and then send it to me. I was told this was their procedure. I said I would not deposit a check into my account and declined the offer. The response was, "suit yourself." The offer letter came from admiin.cignaglobal@mail.com (another red flag, admin spelled with 2 ii's). Emails from Cigna would end with @cigna.com. After the issue about a check being emailed, I did some digging and there it was, a whole page from THE CIGNA GROUP... Terrible set of circumstances.

GD these scammers. Not a single one of us deserves to have to cope with this foolishness. Please be careful, everyone. I am working on changing all of my job site profiles to eliminate city and state. Eliminated HS graduation date and DOB years ago. These creeps give me the creeps.

wow,, thank you for posting this,,, the depths that scammers take is amazing to try to screw people over. I hope you reported this individual/company to the right authorities.

A job seeker I know was asked for her credit card number! Some people can't even run a scam very well. Seriously, never divulge SSN until the job offer is on the table and you know it to be valid.

This almost happen to me last October I got all the way to the end and they say they was gonna send me all the equipment that I need and I reimburse the money back, my gut feeling said no so I told them not to send anything I'm not interested, they had told me I was hired, then I started receiving these post about scammers thanks sooooo much, I made sure to delete that hangout account and don't read that mess when they have online interviews
