Should I Pursue Or Move On
I worked at a company 23 years and was terminated because I was accused of sending another employee a threatening E-Mail. When I was accused of this incident I immediately contacted Yahoo because I didn't send the E-Mail and I wanted to know who sent the note. Yahoo stated at the time that they were unable to let such information unless I was law enforcement or government. I stated it was to keep my job that I had been on for 23 years . They told me their hands are tied they couldn't do anything. I told my Union about it and the sat on it for 6 months until the Company came down and said I'm not able to set foot on any property or talk with any employee. My sister worked there for 19 years and was terminated a year later. I find out in December of 2016 that my yahoo Email had been hacked by a company employee. It was the cousin of the alleged person who received the E-Mail. The Firing Manager was the nephew of the person who received the E-Mail. Should I hire an Attorney and present all evidence I have and go after the company?

Sounds like you have a case. But, do you have the money? Corporations have limitless funds to destroy you. Vengeance is mine, thus sayeth the Lord. You could spend what you have left feeding the beast, or your family. Pray and allow God to deal with them. You will be surprised how He does. It would be better to spend your time and energy creating your own business. Then you will be in charge.

I would get a lawyer and give them all the info and sue the company that let you go and get back pay and retirement package pay for times of service.

Yes!! Go after them by all means possible. They wrongfully terminated you.

Darryl,
please note the following, as you will need them to win your argument; 1- have a timeline of what occurred 2- have a list of names and relations of those involved 3- find out who hacked into your account and make sure you can show it was them that did it 4- your union may not be able to help with the case until you bring all of the evidence together and then hire your own attorney to defend you, however you should ask the union to request reimbursement for your lost wages, and new pay rate in line with the raises or updated benefits you should have received 5- file a criminal report against the hacker, if your info is good, it will show that you mean business and the company will see that you are serious and probably not want to contest the findings and rehire you 6- have your local media and elected officials contact your company, this will really get their attention as both groups are powerful and will bring a certain level of credibility to your complaint 7- be ready to make an offer for settlement, if you have another job that you are happy at, you may want to have a settlement plan in hand so they can pay you off and be done with the entire issue 8- pay outs are rarely more than 50% of what you may have been owed ... think about it in this manner, if you were unemployed 6 months and you should have received $30K in salary, but you received $15K in unemployment you are probably looking at a settlement of about $8K to $10K from the company, without them having to put up a fight ... 9- be ready to have all the work denied because of lack of proof or hearsay .... in these cases, things are or aren't, there is little more to present than the facts
GET A LAWYER, even the best unions have arbitrators that are not as experienced as lawyers ... companies know how expensive lawyers and legal fees can be, arbitration doesn't cost them much and they may want to take their chances with the arbitrator of the very union they pay dues to and hire employees from and have an established relationship with.
best of luck

If you hire an attorney make sure it's one who doesn't get paid unless you get paid.

YES!!!

Do you seriously have to ask that question?

I feel you have every right to pursue legal action. It sounds like you have a good case and the company should have supported the research. You were set up for sure. Did you really like the the position you had there or do you prefer to move on to a different experience?

Yes and file a complaint in your union. They shouldve looked into this immediately. They are there for you not the other way around.
Hey,Darryl?your guess is as good as. Mine , .you seem very wise.
