Sometimes companies keep the job posting open if have more than one position open for the same job or if they experience high employee urn-over in those rolls. I applied for Lowe's back in Sept/2015 which is the typically the beginning of their holiday season hiring period but I didn't get a call back until Nov/2015, 2 months later. I suggest you keep applying as long as your application gets accepted.

Hi Kim: Sorry to hear you're going through this. I think a lot of employers tend to leave those signs up because they want to collect applications - that way, when they have a job opening, they can just go through the apps they have and start on interviews right away. I would also suggest following up on any applications you've submitted. Try calling or visiting the employer, as this shows you're excited about the job opportunity!
