We love honking too
Just in case anyone is ever wondering if we get tired of people doing the ‘pull’ motion for our air horns.. We don’t. I remember being a kid and loved being able to convince a trucker to use their horn and I still get that same feeling when I can do that for a kid. It’s one of the brighter parts of what can be an otherwise pretty boring day

I get as much enjoyment out of doing it for kids as they do hearing it I remember being little at school and doing it when trucks went by

It is always nice when you can make a child smile

My boyfriend of 4 years still to this day loves semi trucks and the drivers of course, his father is one and used to take him on rides all the time and he still does their air honking thing and knoes how to flash his lights so the semis can pass , i hope our son is just like him and has the passion he does. By the way THANK you for your hard work

Thank you so very much for proclaiming that. Also thank you so very much for honking I was walking on the sidewalk to my mother's home to cut the grass for her and I don't know what made me think of doing it but it was fun being 55 years of age and y'all gave me a toot. Thank you that did make my day.

Little boy in the back seat of a car did that. I pulled the valve. Mom turned around and back-handed the child across the back seat. So sorry.

I always blow horn unless car right beside me

Express. Like to the air horn for the. Just see the reaction they have. It puts a smile on their face.

Kevin Herrington: I am a nearly 66 y/o retired driver with more than 6 million miles under my butt. There isn't much I haven't seen and I mean some really serious stuff. From couples having sex in the back of a pickup a hot summer day to weigh stations demolished by a driver tweeking out on an 8 ball of meth and everything in between. I drove for 38 years as an employee and 10 years as an o/o. I, like you, used to try to get the truckers to blow those air horns, which they did usually. For the last 5 -6 years as an o/o I wouldn't go full blow on my horns because they were train horns. The biggest reason for not going full blow is , one time cruising down the Interstate this compact car passed me. Now mind you, the speed limit was 75 mph. I was going slightly under that so that's why they passed me. As they did I looked down, as all drivers do, and I saw a woman passenger wiith her feet up on the dash sleeping. There were 3 small kids in the back of seat messing around and I suppose it was their father driving, whi knows. Anyway they pulled over into my lane and they stayed ahead of me for nearly 3 hours. Then the car started to slow down a little bit and I was creeping up on it. All of a sudden there were three little arms started to pump air so I was more than happy to oblige them. Evidently the driver was drowsy and when I gave a full blow of my train horns that car did everything except back up. I must have scared the bejesus out of him and the passenger. Thankfully there wasn't very much traffic because the situation could have gone the other way. I vowed on that day, I would never blow my horns when the kids wanted me too, unless both the driver and the passenger were aware of what was about to transpire.
That one incident opened my eyes to the dangers of taking for granted that the driver and the passenger were aware of their surroundings. I still drive a little bit, mostly local, but I've never ever forgotten that incident and probably never will. Hey brother trucker, keep the clean side up and the dirty side and keep it between the ditches!! Safe travels.
