Customer Service Rep

Trying to keep my spirits up and...

Hello, I have been with my current job for 2 years. This is a long time in the Customer Service Call Center world. I have had my ups and downs and I am very grateful for this opportunity. I work 3rd party, so I am employed by one and actually work for the other. I will say it is technical support for a major cable (communications) company. It is a tough job. That all being said, I also have a cleaning business of my own. I genuinely enjoy doing that better, but it doesn't pay the bills right now. I just don't have enough clients. I recently moved from Northern Illinois to Southern Wisconsin. My job is literally the right in the middle so it doesn't take me any longer to get to work. I am currently looking for a better job, but it can be exhausting after I get home from work after a very stressful day. I think perhaps I need to stop worrying so much and do what I can to get my business going. What do you think?

Robin, I think that your right all you can do is keep pushing forward. Have you thought about advertising your cleaning business on facebook or any other social media this might help you. I wish you the best of luck .

Work on increasing your customer base then go full time, do not buy an existing business you will get robbed, build your own business. This comes from experience I have lost over 200k in bad deals.

Sales Representative at My Doctor Suggests

I worked for a company for 13 years and they decided to replace a lot of people with family members. I've been earnestly looking since December and this is July so I feel your frustration times 10. I would stay with the jobs that pays the bills maybe give your current cleaning clients a free or reduced cleaning if they refer their friends

Develop your business Robin Wait ! Make growing your business another part time job. Invest all the time you're going to put into finding another job into growing your business. After all, that's what you “genuinely like to do”.

I think the biggest challenge for people in the cleaning business is convincing people they need and, more importantly, afford cleaning services. Here’s a business idea.. get some business cards printed and describe all the services you provide on the back of the card. Always emphasize “affordability”! Start handing then out to everyone you know including your existing clients.

Check with your city/state Elder Services department and find out how you can take on senior cleaning assignments. Get a list of property management companies in your area and call to make inquiries and offer your services. You should also network with Brinda Rowand . Brinda is another active community member who ran her own cleaning business for over 10 years. I'm sure she can offer you some tip on how you can grow your business quickly.

Fortunately you already found an occupation that you enjoy doing so put all your energy into pursuing it and I’m sure you’ll be successful. Go For It!
