In 2016, the Working In America initiative launched to collect stories from workers across the country to tell us about the challenges and joys of what they do and how they do it.
Join working people across our country who have shared their work experiences by submitting your story at https://working.org/working-stories/
Below are examples of working stories shared by participants—can you relate? What is something about your job that people don't know?

Adil Customer Service & Shipping at Fangamer Tucson, AZ
What is one thing about your work that most people don't know?
What's one thing people don't know about my work: The sheer amount of work that goes into producing a product—everything from the design phase, the back and forth of tweaking designs and production, to approving samples, ensuring quality control, getting it on the shelf, shipping to customers, and doing metrics afterwards to improve future products.
What makes you most proud of the work you do?
To me, Fangamer means being part of a team all working towards a goal, all the while still being friends and family to support each other in and out of the workplace. We all love video games and being nerds, so it's a thrill to work at a job where everyone is so passionate about what they do.
