Whats a good summer job for a HS Junior?

I have a very laid back summer camp counselor job I’ve been doing for the last 2 summers this summer but I think I should find something where I can learn about business and have more responsibilities. Any suggestions?

Business Owner Employer at Wccg

Try going into a topic or temporary occupation (Summer) you enjoy or will study in academics or a trade that can assist you prior to College or trade school. Volunteer or mentor work reflects very well on your College or University applications, and the experience is fulfilling and can concretely lead to networking and open "REAL" doors for you Scott!! ( Business Owner & Employer for 32 years, M.S., double B.A., Political Candidate, United States Armed Forces Veteran (Two-Honorable Discharges) and Former Professional & World Class Athlete. P.S. Best of luck to you Scott...you will go far.

a movie theater isn't a bad place to get work experience and stay cool during the summer. Lowe's and other showcase cinemas are always looking for responsible teens.

Mariah's suggestion to ask about other jobs at the summer camp program is a good idea. You can also check local convenience, retail, or grocery stores. They offer non-experienced employment with flexible work hours during the summer.

Hi Scott: Sounds like you're ready for a change! But before you make the leap, have you tried asking the summer camp where you work if they'd be willing to offer you more responsibilities or a leadership role? Since you've been there for a couple of summers, I think you'd be surprised at how positively they respond to your request.
