Argument With Co-worker
Had an argument with a co-worker and she told me to F*** myself and walked off, I went to ask her what did she say, Long story short Company Terminated me because they said I was the aggressive one, question I have is what can they say when they are called for reference

Robin, this is a tough one. "...and she told me to F*** myself and walked off..." It is surprising that there could even be an argument at work, as each of you are working towards the same goal...project completion.
The first response when challenged, is denial. The second is to counter attack. When countering, we appear as the bad guy, the aggressor, as your manager seemed to feel. Also, you are in a service and support position, so conflicts are to avoided at all costs. Even the temporary bruise to your dignity. But here is what I'm hearing from you. You participated in an argument with the co-worker. You felt them slight you and wanted retribution. Yet there are legal ways of achieving that without going to war.
My reference sheet does me little good, as all the company's I've worked for are now closed, without my efforts to keep them healthy and alive. That means every manager I was under, is now under someone else, and earning's are lower for these people. Their wives who were used to a comfortable living, are now living on half what they could spend only 7 years ago. And with each passing year, their dislike for me increases. But I must list them, even knowing they will say...'NO! We will not rehire him.'
The word confrontation is so misused, that some people do not even know what it means. I have even heard managers use the term 'they are confrontational', meaning something negative. When in fact it is the first positive move towards meeting people and situations. If we never confront anyone or thing, then we can never learn and understand their needs and wants.
However, because we all want to be 'right', confrontations can get out of hand, becoming conflicts. Which is a no-no. Confrontations should continue until the conquest of knowledge has been achieved. The knowing what the person requires to be satisfied or happy. In this instance...well, she told you what it would take, but you chose to question it further. Macy's has always been a strong retail provider, until this last down-turn in 2011. If you were unaware that they are downsizing (probably 50% by years end), then you needed to be schooled on their current conditions. Which would have made it quite evident that thousands are going into the unemployment lines, and job security is being leveraged by the remaining staffs. When I am told that someone is confrontational, I am pleased to learn someone is attempting to gather data. Data which will be used to meet both parties needs and desires. Macy's is a large organization, and I would not even know where to find the HR department that might field the investigative nature of a new prospective employer for you Robin. But I do know, if they say 'Argumentative', then the outcome will be less rewarding to you. If you worked there more than 90 days, you need to list them, because they will show up in your background check as well. And, Robin, please. Next time, take their advice. Pleasuring yourself in the bathroom would have produced a better outcome than standing in an unemployment line. Respectfully, Philip M Brockman

They cannot give the reason you were terminated. You did nothing wrong, don't worry about them calling HR. Good Luck

They can ask if they would hire you again. That might not be good. Wow, your boss must have been an ass because I would have done the same thing you did! Hang in there Robin!
dont use them
