Volunteer Program Manager

I am trying to switch careers; from a volunteer program manager to human resources analyst or generalists for going for a manager or director role. How can I successfully make this happen without going back to school? I have an MBA and a Master's in Human Services and currently do a lot of HR functions but for unpaid staff.

Tameko, It might also serve you well to get take the SHRM Certified Professional certification exam. Prep classes are offered or you can get the materials on line. I benefited greatly from attending the classes. I took the classes from Sept. - Dec. and took and passed the certification 2/1st. It is a lot of work, but the certification is asked for by an increasing amount of companies now seeking HR managers/directors.
