
LOOKING FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Location: SALEM, VIRGINIA Duration: Initially for 12-18 month(s) (with possibility of extension and/or conversion) Pay Rate: $ 70.00/HR Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
□ Maintain a clean, safe and orderly working environment □ Participate in and lead control and power electronics design activities for new product development programs -Provide engineering oversight for assembly of prototype electronic assemblies -Act as an engineering asset who provides training to manufacturing technicians when needed □ Perform basic electrical testing of 1st article components and assemblies □ Oversee cable harness design and documentation □ Read and understand work instructions, assembly drawings and related documentation □ Oversee engineering-to-manufacturing BOM generation □ Author controls-related assembly work instructions □ Assist with test equipment design and maintenance □ Assist with production test planning □ Familiarity with UL508A □ Regularly communicate pertinent design and test results with engineering staff, customers, and other stakeholders □ Responsible for understanding and complying with quality policy, product design procedures and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals and environmental well-being. □ Support the efforts of Manufacturing, Installation and Commissioning and others as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are the minimum qualifications an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.
Education A four-year BSEE degree or related degree with relevant work experience
Experience At least five years experience in a related industrial setting is preferred. Must have experience with electrical, electronic and mechanical systems assembly, test and debug.
Skills □ Must be able to read, understand and follow assembly instructions. □ Must be able to read, understand and follow schematic diagrams. □ Must be able to use electronic diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and others. □ Must be able to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches and others. □ Experience with schematic capture tools (Altium, etc.) is required. □ Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. □ Experience with firmware programming tools (FPGA, etc.) is desirable.
