Over qualified & Job scared.
I just got back from my second interview for a construction company. I applied for a heavy equipment operator position. I have 30 years experience. I showed up 15 minutes early. They told me they liked me and my experience from first interview. They informed me the superintendent would have final say. So they wanted me to show that I could do what I claimed. They sent to a job site and put me on 3 different pieces of equipment. A front end loader, excavator and a bulldozer. I ran each one for about 15mins.each. They had a pipe crew that was trying to connect to existing water line. Superintendent told me they had been trying for 2 days. I told the pipe Forman a couple of things to try. He did and made the connection in about 15mins. He thanked me for my help. The superintendent and I went to the site trailer and he said it was obvious I knew what I was doing. But he didn't need someone to do his job and I wasn't what he wasn't looking for. That I had to much experience for the position. Sounds job scared to me.
