Driven to make a change-Atlanta
Hello, I am a veteran math teacher with 20 years of experience and a business background. I am burning out and ready to move to the next level. I have multiple talents but having a hard time getting my foot in the door. Not interested in sales but love data and statistics. Any suggestions on landing an interview? I am a great train and people person with a variety of skills.

Try Geico Marilyn. I heard they were very good to work for and they start you at 40,000.00.

Hi, Marilyn! I am a former English teacher myself and got into the insurance field with a customer service position. I realize that doesn't pay well, but I did learn about actuaries, in which the pay is very good. Perhaps you could look into starting anywhere in accounting with an insurance company and then taking the actuarial courses, which the company will pay for if you pass. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

Hi Marilyn: Thanks for posting to Jobcase! I think it's so awesome you want to learn another field - and data/statistics is very hot right now. Have you considered boosting your resume by taking online courses and getting certificates in these fields? It could be an interesting way to get your foot in the door of this industry.
