Terminated
Terminated after a year-and-a-half of employment for taking a bereavement day for my aunt which all in all is a great aunt but the Union contract does not state that it has to be a blood relative union says they are going to fight for me hoping I can get something out of that

Hey Brian I'm not terminated you're terminated I don't care what you're talking about

It is funny how people jump to conclusions on what they want to be true and not what was really said. You clearly said that your union was going to do what they can to help you and these ignoramouses come up with something completely different.

Not cool Brian.... So sorry for your loss. I've had this happen to me as well

Good luck bro they screwed me at Transtar dacco Cookeville Tennessee a year and two months fire me over head trauma being in a car wreck

Don't count on anybody helping you. Contact a union lawyer and hear what they have to say. . PS: Thank you for serving our Country, I hope you get everything that's coming to you in a positive way of course. God Speed too you and your's my friend. Paul Durand

My dad died on my birthday 8/5 and then fired me on a bogus reason in October 13th. And I'm still grieving

I got fired from Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center for the same thing. My best friend past away and I was scheduled to work on his burial day and they refused to give me the day off because it was not a blood relative... Like WTF!!!! After providing and coming in on my days off when they needed help/ coverage and I cant go say my goodbyes to my bestfriend one last time??? That says a lot about that company and defenitly don't want to be a part or associated with an organization that doesn't show compassion for its own employees.

Something smells fishy too me ? Clean attendance record? No performance issues ?

sorry to hear that i have a question do you live in either texas or louisiana? the reason i ask is because both of these states are what they call Right to work states . that meaning a employer can fire you for any reason they want.
As long as they keep helping you that's all that matters. If you don't get positive results file a complaint with the EEOC.
