Looking to go back to work but....

Hi. I'm a 25 year Telecommunications professional who had to take a step back (Retirement) for the last three years. I'm finding it tought to get back. I mean the recruiter calls ma and all that, but the do NOT follow up. How can I make the last 3 years of my live look productive. I mean I was under doctors orders. I may not be 100% but I know I can still handle it. I've work the last decade in much worse shape. Just looking for advice.

Hey George,

I'm in the same boat out for the last 4 months. Recovering from cancer. I would say you might want to start a business and say you were a consultant. It's always better to be working even if its for a short while. If they ask about the gap in employment be honest.

Be honest but not too honest, Hey i got sidelined for a bit, I'm ready to go back in. Or my doctor said I couldn't work for 3 yrs, but I need to work now. How you word things out play a huge role, if I was an employer, hearing you were out for 3 yrs per doctors orders sends red flags, oh if I hire him would he need time off again. Good luck
