Hopelessly helpless
I was a drug addict and left my situation so I could be a parent to my daughter and my grandmother allowed me to move cross country to come help and to work on myself so I got a job things was going well however I kind of wanted to start dating again ended up kicked out cycle repeated lost custody of my kid. I ended up starting over got back in contact with my grandma who let me come back in and I got a few associates degrees and began working on my mental health in that process I got a job at a call center and loved the work environment but focused more on making money and doing projects to my home to make it safe for my grandma who at that point had dementia and for some time time year I had a feeling something was going to happen. I lost my job at the call center which hurt ended up working for a store I hated and during either sleep or work my gma ever up having a stroke and it was even harder just sitting watching her die so I lose that job and got hired at another call center but ended up being accused of stealing so worked 4 days and fired Thought I could have someone help be an asset if I lost work they could handle the bills and back and forth but the person bailed I’ve applied to over 150 places in the past two months and over all interviewed only at 25 of them lost family lost work no income and doing the job fairs and interviews and having gone through such a hard experience I lost confidence in me I don’t know what to do any more

Wow, you have a testimony for others who may be going through some difficult times! Keep trying and have faith-something will come through. I have to tell myself this when times are though too! Good luck!

Good luck @LexiMonroe. You are brave to share this personal story. Don't lose hope and keep trying. We are all rooting for you

Look for a job with an entry-level and training. You can be a driver, school bus driver, limo driver. Go to the motor vehicle division and ask them for the bus driving manual, read it, take the test at the motor vehicle division, and get the cdl license for driving. You can drive school bus and make a high hourly rate of money, and time off on the weekends.

Lexi, I can relate to your situation because I went through similar series of events one by one and did not know where to start and what to do? Pray to God by doing meditation, going to church to forgive you for all the wrongs you did and reward you and guide you to restart. where are you located in US? I work for IBM. Try in IBM they give chance to people. Try in sales of IBM if there is a presensce in your town. Also go to EDD employment department of the county you are in and seek their help. Your County's social services can also help you immediately with the cash aid and help to find a job. Good Luck you will be in my prayers.

I am so sorry you are going through this alone. It's easier said than done to not loose faith and confidence. Self-doubt start settling in and you start wondering if you're even worth it at all.
Let me tell you, I have faced this same problems, maybe not like yours but we all face some sort of battle in our life. I want to encourage you to find faith, a home church you can go to, find people who can help build you up. Being alone is so hard. Also STOP! Stop allowing those thoughts to come into your mind. The battle against your mind is harder than what people do to you. So every time you find yourself with any negative thoughts, you stop. Say no to those thought and start speaking and thinking positively.
In the end you will make it, because you have it in you to do it. Don't allow doubt & fear to prevent you from achieving what you want to do and be.
Good Luck & may God give you a happy and prosperous New Year!

Have you thought of working in an assisted living facility. Your experience with your grandmother, however terrible it was, could be of help here
