Does workplace environment MATTER?

I am only nineteen and have not had many jobs yet, but I saw an article that said there is scientific evidence that people are happier and more efficient in their work in a happier environment...even the color of the walls matters. My previous conception of working was that you clock in at 9 and out at 5 and environment doesn’t matter, but I’m slowly realizing the importance of a happy workplace. We spend so many hours of our lives in these offices, shouldn’t we enjoy it? I was wondering if you (other jobcasers) are happy at your job, and if so, why? What makes it so enjoyable or unenjoyable? Is it the personality of coworkers or the appearance of the building?

You are correct. Most businesses realize this too, that happier workers results in less turnover, higher job satisfaction, less workplace malfeasance, and lower insurance premiums. There are multiple factors that go into employee morale and the geographic location, type of business, and other factors affect what specific efforts will increase morale at that particular place of business. It is not the same across the board.

Hello Ally, Definitely environment matters as it becomes a part of your daily life. What would be better is having the flexibility of time & not tied down to a monotonous 9-5 job. On top of that is earning lucrative income even on a part-time basis. Sounds good?
